Robert (Bob) J. Hart

Robert J. Hart retired from the DuPont Company in Wilmington, Delaware, where he was employed for 27 years, with the title of Principal Consultant in the Rotating Machinery Group of the Engineering Department.

Mr. Hart provided individual consultation and group training throughout the DuPont Corporation on the development of new pumping systems and the analysis and recommendations for the correction of problems with existing systems.  He Chaired DuPont’s Corporate Pump Committee, which is responsible for the development and maintenance of Corporate Pump Standards and the dissemination of technical information related to pumping systems, and Co-Chaired the development of the company’s Pump Alliances.

He is a member of ASME and chaired the ASME B73 Chemical Duty Pump Committee for nine years.  He is a former member of the Advisory Committee of Texas A&M Pump Symposium and has delivered several technical short courses and papers related to the subjects of pumps and pumping systems.

Mr. Hart received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Ohio State University.  Prior to his employment with DuPont, he worked for 13 years in the Engineering Department of the Cooper Bessemer Corporation, a manufacturer of turbines, engines and compressors.
